Brief Summary
This
personal injury lawsuit was filed in the District Court of Caddo County, Oklahoma on February 6, 2007. The Plaintiffs sought recovery for damages resulting from a an accident when the Coop's vehicle struck the automobile that Mary Scott, one of the Plaintiffs, was in. Scott suffered severe and catrastrophic brain injury requiring constant medical care.
The case was tried to a jury in Oklahoma State District Court in
December 2009 and the jury returned a verdict finding $20 Million in damages against Caddo
Electric Cooperative. The court subsequently reduced the actual amount of the judgment to $12 Million because of he contributory negligence of the plaintiff.
The
Coop Litigation News is unable to determine the status of the case because there is neither a notice of appeal nor a release and satisfaction of the judgment in the court file.
